The Central Committee for Flood and Storm Control and the National Committee for Search and Rescue has warned coastal provinces from northern Quang Ninh to central Phu Yen and relevant agencies of approaching storm Utor.

The storm, which is due to go into the northeastern area of the East Sea late August 12, is reported to be very strong, moving fast and potentially dangerous.

The localities are urged to take every effort to inform ship owners at sea of the storm's progress and to proactively take preventative measures.

In addition, rescue teams are to be readied for emergencies and to regularly report to the Central Committee for Flood and Storm Control and the National Committee for Search and Rescue.

At the same time, a tropical depression in the East Sea is also forecast to cause heavy rain in southern provinces and the Central Highlands.-VNA
