Nguyen Chau, born in 1907 inHoa Vang district, can play well various musical instruments such asflute, two-string fiddle, 16-chord zither, monochord and drum.

It is said that Chau could playsophisticated pieces of national music when he was 14 years old and hewas invited to play for large bands in numerous central provinces andSaigon (now Ho Chi Minh City).

Chau has taughtnational music to hundreds of people and many of them have become goodplayers and music teachers./.
