OV in Japan elect new executive board

The Overseas Vietnamese Association in Japan (OVAJ) elected a four-member executive board for the 2011 – 2013 term led by Duong Van Qua, at its second congress in Tokyo on Nov. 20.
The Overseas Vietnamese Association in Japan (OVAJ) elected a four-member executive board for the 2011 – 2013 term led by Duong Van Qua, at its second congress in Tokyo on Nov. 20.

Participants reviewed the OVAJ’s activities over the past three years, including support for flood victims in the homeland and raising funds to assist Japanese people and Overseas Vietnamese (OV) in the wake of the tsunami and earthquakes on March 11 in Japan,

They also adopted the amended regulations and plan of action for the 2011-2013 term.

Addressing the event, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan , Nguyen Phu Binh said he hoped the new executive board will help the OVAJ further develop and strengthen solidarity among the Vietnamese community in Japan .

Binh said the association needs to help its members build stable lives, contributing to the national construction and defence as well as developing friendship between the two peoples.
OVAJ was established on July 19, 2009./.
