The figures werereleased at a ceremony in Cam Ranh city, Khanh Hoa central province, onSept. 10 to sum up the first phase of a programme entitled “Contributingstones to build Truong Sa archipelago” launched by Tuoi Tre (Youth)newspaper in May.

At the ceremony, the newspaperrepresentative handed over 15 billion VND to the Truong Sa districtPeople’s Committee to build public works on the islands.

The programme will continue calling on people throughout the countryto contribute money to help the island district upgrade clinics, windpower stations and other works.

On this occasion, the Tuoi tre newspaper organised an exchange programme for young people and Truong Sa soldiers./.

Phu Tho: 200kg bomb safely relocated, detonated

According to a report by the Phu Tho Military Command, local residents spotted the bomb on August 31 in the Da River after the river water receded, exposing it beneath mud and soil on the riverbed. The bomb remained intact, including its fuse, and was located about 300m from a residential area.

Applicants would no longer be required to resubmit documents, and certification or information requests could not be turned into discretionary licensing through an “ask – give” mechanism.
