More than 25,600 Vietnamese workers went overseas to work in the first four months of 2012, equivalent to 86 percent of the year-on-year figure.
According to the Overseas Labour Management Department at the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, this figure is 28.5 percent of the yearly target of sending 90,000 guest workers.
Chinese Taiwan topped the list of destinations that Vietnamese workers head for, with nearly 10,000 there already.
It was followed by the Republic of Korea with 3,580 workers, Japan with over 2,800, Malaysia with 2,500 and Laos with 2,200.-VNA
