Cairo (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy inEgypt held a ceremony on January 12 to welcome Tet (Lunar New Year) for theVietnamese community living and working in the country.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dungextended New Year greetings to the community, wishing them a lot of happiness,peace and prosperity in the year head.

Dung praised efforts and contributions of the local overseasVietnamese in consolidating and deepening the sound friendship betweenthe two countries, especially as the two sides mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year.

The ambassador highlighted Vietnam and Egypt are enjoying afruitful traditional friendship cooperation, and stressed Egypt supported Vietnam during thenational liberation struggle. The two countries have witnessed significantdevelopments in all spheres including economy, trade, culture, education andpeople-to people exchange.

Overseas Vietnamese andinternational friends enjoyed typical Tet dishes such as Chung cake, springrolls and Pho./.

452 lawmakers, or 94.56% of the total number of deputies present, voted in favour the revised Law on Corporate Income Tax, while the amended Excise Tax Law was adopted with 448 out of 454 deputies present voting in favour, accounting for 93.72% of the total.
