Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on January 27 paid a visit to cadres and soldiers at the High Command of Border Guards on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet), which will fall on Feb. 3.
The PM praised achievements made by the border guard force in maintaining national border sovereignty.
He expressed his wish that border guards will continue promoting traditions and excellently fulfilling all their assigned tasks in the Year of the Cat.
On the same day, Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan paid Tet visits to the Party committees, authorities and people in the northern provinces of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang. She presented 20 gifts to poor households and policy beneficiaries in Phat Tich commune, Tien Du district, Bac Ninh province.
On the occasion of traditional Tet, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai also visited the central province of Ninh Thuan while Huynh Ngoc Son, member of the Party Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, visited the southern province of Kien Giang .
