The Party Central Committee convened a plenary session in Hanoi on January 11 during its ongoing 10 th meeting under the chair of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

During the seventhworking day, the committee heard a report on the results of a vote ofconfidence casted on members of the Politburo and the Secretariat (11 thtenure).

Politburo member To Huy Rua, who is also Secretaryof the Party Central Committee and head of the Central Committee’sOrganisation Commission, delivered a report of the Politburo on electingadditional members to the Central Committee’s Inspection Commission (11th tenure).

Politburo member Ngo Van Du, who is alsoSecretary of the Party Central Committee and head of the CentralCommittee’s Inspection Commission, reported on the Politburo’sconsiderations for the settlement of complaints related to disciplineswithin the Party.

Participants elected eight additionalofficials to the Inspection Commission (11 th tenure) and voted to keepforms of Party disciplines, as suggested by the Politburo, intact.

In the afternoon, they discussed in groups a scheme on nation-wideplanning for media development and management until 2025.

The Committee convened its 10th meeting in Hanoi on January 5 and plans to wrap up the meeting on January 12.-VNA

NA leader hosts Belgian King in Hanoi

To further strengthen Vietnam-Belgium relations, especially parliamentary cooperation, both sides agreed to enhance delegation exchanges at all levels, particularly between parliamentary committees and friendship groups. They also pledged to share legislative and supervisory experience, coordinate positions in international organisations, support each other’s candidacies for UN bodies, and effectively implement the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
