Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was appointed as Secretary of the Central Military Commission (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, has been appointed as Secretary of the Central Military Commission in the 2015 – 2020 tenure.
The appointment is part of the decision of the Politburo, which was announced by Pham Minh Chinh, a Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission in Hanoi on May 10.
The 2015-2020 Central Military Commission has 23 members.
General Ngo Xuan Lich, a Politburo member and Minister of National Defence, is Vice Secretary.
Meanwhile, Politburo member and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is a member of the commission’s standing committee.-VNA
