The Lao Party, State and people will do their best to consolidate and strengthen their traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam.

Politburo member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee (LPRPCC) Saman Vinhakhet made the commitment at a reception given by Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh in Hanoi on Oct. 30.

The Lao official, who is LPRPCC’s Head of the Steering Committee for Ideology, Theory and Culture, expressed his deep gratitude for the valuable support the Vietnamese Party, State, armed forces and people extended to Laos during its struggle for national liberation in the past and construction and development process at present.

He highly appreciated the contributions and sacrifice of Vietnamese volunteer experts and soldiers who began lending a helping hand to their Lao brothers and sisters 60 years ago.

The Vietnamese Party leader stressed that Vietnam-Laos ties are a model for international relations and an invaluable asset for the two nations, fostered by late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Kaysone Phomviahane.

He also spoke highly of the celebration to mark 60 years since the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts were sent to Laos to lend support, saying it is an occasion to recall the traditional friendship, fighting alliance and solidarity between the two Parties, armies and peoples and to commemorate the great contributions of Vietnamese volunteers to Laos’s revolution.

He expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Laos People’s Revolutionary Party, the Laos people will continue to reap more fruits in building a country of peace, independence, democracy, unification and prosperity./.
