Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on September 11 received Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong who is on an official visit to Vietnam.

The Singaporean PM affirmed that his Government always attaches importance to the multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, particularly in economics, investment, trade, and aviation.

He added that Singapore is willing to share its experience with Vietnam in urban development, human resources and information technology, as well as further their cooperation in multilateral forums.

The Vietnamese host congratulated Singapore for its massive achievements while reiterating that Vietnam always considers Singapore one of its leading partners.

He spoke highly of the establishment of a strategic partnership between the two countries during PM Lee Hsien Long’s visit, adding that this event is all the more significant when it took place at the time the two countries celebrate the 40th anniversary of their diplomatic ties. The Party leader said the strategic partnership will create a firm basis and favourable conditions to expand cooperation between the two countries in the future.

The two sides agreed to increase bilateral cooperation in all fields as well as the ties between parties, legislative bodies and mass organisations of the two countries.-VNA
