Hanoi (VNA) – Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte arrived in Mosow on October 2, beginning his five-day visit to Russia.
During his visit, President Duterte is scheduled to meet Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow to discuss measures to boost the countries’ cooperation in economy, investment, transport, agriculture, among others.
The Philippine President will meet his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in Sochi, to review bilateral ties.
Both sides will define ways to further enhance cooperation in security and defense and combatting terrorism, extremism and cross-border crimes. The two sides will also discuss regional and global developments that affect the Philippines and Russia, Duterte said before the visit.
As part of the visit, Duterte will join with the Russian President and many world leaders to attend the Valdai Club forum.
He is also scheduled to meet leaders of Russian and Philippine businesses in Moscow to encourage them increase bilateral economic linkage.
This is the second visit to Russia by Duterte after the first in May 2017./.
