Hanoi (VNA) – The Philippine army transferred three sailors it had rescuedto the Vietnam Embassy in the country on November 12.
Theceremony took place in Zamboanga, where the sailors received medical treatment.
Thethree crewmembers of the Giang Hai vessel, Bui Xuan Vien, Bui Trung Duc, andNguyen Quang Huy, were rescued and handed over to the Philippines army unit onTawi Tawi island on November 10. Another sailor, Nguyen Huu Truong, was alsorescued but he died over serious illness.
Alsoon November 12, the Philippines army helped transport the sailors and the body ofthe deceased to Manila.
TheVietnam Embassy is processing paperwork to promptly send these men and Truong’sbody back home.-VNA
