At present, pineapple accounts for 60% of the fruit tree cultivation area in Tam Diep with approximately 2,000 farmer households in the area participating in pineapple cultivation. On an area of 5,500 hectares, Dong Giao farm has a red basalt soil, gently sloping, easy to drain terrain and an average temperature of 20 - 27 degrees Celsius, suitable for pineapple growth and high quality at harvest time. The two main kinds of pineapple grown in Dong Giao are Queen Victoria pineapple (succulent, aromatic, sweet) and Cayen Pineapple (thin skin, few nodes, big fruits, suitable for processing pineapple for export).
