The Prime Minister approved a plan on the organisation of a series of events to celebrate the 40 th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2015).


Incense offering ceremonies will be held on April 29-30, 2015 in numerous locations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, including President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, the Ho Chi Minh Museum, and Ho Chi Minh City’s Martyrs’ Cemetery.


A special art programme will take place on April 30 in Ho Chi Minh City to mark the day.


On this occasion, the municipal People’s Committee will coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organise a bicycle race.


A documentary film on the liberation of the south and national reunification will be screened on the Vietnam Television (VTV) channels.


These events aim to honour the historical significance of the April 30 victory as well as commemorating the individuals who sacrificed their lives for the country’s liberation.-VNA
