He ordered provinces in the council, namely ThuaThien-Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh, to focus on the fieldof marine tourism by building coastal roads and linking tourist ports.
The PM also suggested upgrading airports toattract more international tourists.
Stressing the importance of perfecting theinstitutional system, the Government leader asked the council to study newmechanisms to address shortcomings in management and take appropriate measuresto facilitate socio-economic development.
He urged central localities to double efforts to make more considerablecontributions to the country’s tourism development.
The PM recommended improving the operationalefficiency of processing and manufacturing industrial parks and promoting theapplication of the fourth industrial revolution and automation in production.
He demanded central localities to make betteruse of land and human resources in socio-economic development, stressing thatthe State only supports the construction of importation infrastructure such asairports and ports.
Established 22 years ago, the Council for theCentral Key Economic Region covers over 27,800 square kilometers with apopulation of 6.5 million, making up 8.45 percent and over 7.0 percent of thenation’s total area and population.
The region has favourbale conditions to set upeconomic and trade corridors connecting the north and the south and serves as agateway to the sea of the East-West economic corridor linking Myanmar, Laos andCambodia with international navigation routes through the East Sea and thePacific.
To date, the region has formed seven major urbanchains, namely Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An, Tam Ky, Van Tuong, Quang Ngai and Quy Nhonwith tourism and trade services centers.-VNA
