Visiting Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has affirmed that his country will create more favourable conditions for Vietnamese investors and businesses.
PM Hun Sen made the statement at a meeting with Vietnamese investors in Hanoi on December 27, which also saw the presence of Vietnam ’s Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hor Nam Hong.
He spoke highly of Vietnamese businesses, adding that he wants them to continue intensifying their operations in Cambodia and share Vietnam ’s development experience.
President of the Association of Vietnamese Investors to Cambodia (AVIC) Tran Bac Ha said that the association has well performed its role in linking Vietnam-Cambodia trade and investment activities through its support for businesses.
It has also paid attention to implementing social welfare programmes in the neighbouring country, with a total registered capital of 35 million USD, focusing on education, health and support for poor people.
Earlier the same day, the Cambodian leader met 500 Vietnamese experts and volunteer soldiers who fought in battlefields in Cambodia at a gathering with the participation of Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.
PM Hun Sen expressed his delight at the fine development of the two countries’ relations over the past time.
The two countries are determined to lift their friendship and comprehensive cooperation to a new height with two-way trade turnover to be at 5 billion USD by 2015, he added.
Representing the Vietnamese experts and volunteer soldiers, former expert Nguyen Van De recalled the time when he and his comrades fought alongside with Cambodian people and revolutionary armed force against the Pol Pot genocide regime.
