Tokyo (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc left Hanoi on early October 22 morning to attend the coronation ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito from October 22 to 23.

He is accompanied by Minister-Chairman of the Government’s Office Mai Tien Dung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Vu Hong Nam, and his assistant Bui Huy Tung.

Crown Prince Naruhito ascended the throne as the 126th Emperor of Japan on May 1, starting the Reiwa era.

His coronation ceremony is expected to be attended by leaders and officials from more than 190 countries and international organisations.

Earlier, right after Emperor Naruhito had come to the throne, Vietnamese leaders sent congratulations to him./.
