Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 13 met with votersof Mekong Delta city of Can Tho via teleconference.

At the meeting, votersof Can Tho expressed their joy at the recent achievements in the COVID-19 preventionand control, and their determination to continue to well implement the directions andguidelines on pandemic combat and socio-economic development. Theyalso proposed many issues including increasing vaccine distribution, easingtraffic restrictions, the continuation of social welfare policies as well as investment in infrastructure and investment attraction to create jobs for localworkers.

ThePrime Minister highly appreciated the voters’responseto the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and maintaining socio-economicdevelopment. He suggested agencies continue to deal with voters' proposals andrecommendations.

The main tasks and solutions from now until the end of this year are to developand implement priority plans for pandemic prevention and control, according to PM Chinh.

Itwas necessary to flexibly adjust, closely coordinate between monetary andfiscal policies, accelerate disbursement of public investment capital as well as promote exports and control prices, he said.

Hesaid the Government will priotise removing difficulties in mechanisms andpolicies to tap all resources for pandemic prevention and control andsocio-economic development, ensuring social welfare, and strengthening national defenceand security.

Theefficiency of external affairs work will be promoted along with pushing up internationalintegration and drastically implement the 'vaccine diplomacy', Chinh said.

TheGovernment and Prime Minister will accompany the authorities and people of CanTho city to successfully implement the set goals with the immediate plan of shiftingits strategy to safe and flexible adaptation and effective control of theCOVID-19 pandemic while boosting socio-economic development, he said./.

Vietnam, China sign 32 cooperation documents

The documents include a cooperation plan between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) for the 2026–2030 period; a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the Organisation Commission of the CPV Central Committee and its Chinese counterpart; and a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee.
