Sydney (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen XuanPhuc arrived at Kingsford-Smith International Airport in Sydney on the morningof March 16 (local time) to attend the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit.

The PM and his entourage were met at the airport by Ministerfor Multiculturalism of New South Wales Ray Williams MP and several officialsof the state, along with Vietnamese Consul General Trinh Duc Hai and officialsof the Vietnamese Consulate General in Sydney
.
PM Xuan Phuc is scheduled to meet with Premier ofNew South Wales Gladys Berejiklian and the state’s Governor David Hurley ACDSC. He will also have working sessions with Australian financial investors andrepresentatives of big groups of Australia, and attend the Vietnam-AustraliaBusiness Forum.

The leader is set to attend a number of activitieswithin the framework of the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit on March 17.-VNA

Vietnam, Laos strengthen border defence friendship

At Border Marker No. 460, the two defence ministers jointly took part in the traditional ceremony of repainting the marker. Beyond its symbolic significance, the ceremony reflected the determination of the two Parties, States and armed forces to safeguard every marker of national sovereignty, preserve the achievements of border demarcation and marker planting, and develop the Vietnam–Laos border into a symbol of peace, stability, cooperation and development.
