PM receives head of RoK-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group

Hanoi (VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception in Hanoi on June 13 for Chairman of the Republic of Korea (RoK)-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group Kim Hak-yong.

PM Phuc praised the important role played by parliamentarians of the RoK-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group and the Vietnam-RoK Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Having affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to promoting cooperative relations with the RoK, he said Vietnam wants to closely coordinate with the Korean side to develop the strategic cooperative partnership between the two nations to a new height.

The PM highlighted the strong, intensive and effective development of the bilateral relations in recent years, thereby helping to enhance political trust and mutual understanding between the two countries.

PM Phuc said that the Vietnamese Government always pays heed to solving issues related to Korean enterprises operating in Vietnam, adding that their investment in the Southeast Asian country has contributed to promoting Vietnam-RoK exchanges and cooperation.

He expressed his hope that the RoK will continue to support Vietnam in all fields, including security-defence and sports and especially in football, while calling for more efforts from both sides to push forwards the bilateral relationship and raise two-way trade to 100 billion USD by 2020.

For his part, Kim congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic development achievements in recent years and thanked the Vietnamese Government and people for creating favourable conditions for Korean businesses and nationals living and working in Vietnam.

He pledged to make strong efforts, together with members of the RoK-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group, to foster the development of relations between the two countries.-VNA
