Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will attend and co-chair the 40th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Inter-Governmental Committee in Laos on February 4-5, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He will be accompanied by a high-ranking Government delegation, as guests of Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, added the ministry.
Vietnam and Laos have enjoyed close-knit traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.
Trade between Laos and Vietnam topped 900 million USD in 2017, a year-on-year increase of over 10 percent. The two countries have set a target of 4 billion USD by 2020.
Vietnamese companies have invested 5 billion USD in 276 projects in Laos, mainly in energy, services, infrastructure, mining, agriculture and forestry.-VNA
