PM urges consideration of building border economic zone in Cao Bang

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on January 1 suggested considering the possibility of building a border economic zone in the northern border province of Cao Bang.

Cao Bang (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on January 1 suggestedconsidering the possibility of building a border economic zone in the northernborder province of Cao Bang.

He visited Tra Linh border gate in the province’s TrungKhanh district after its upgrade.

The Tra Linh – Longbang (China) border gatepair was upgraded into an international one on December 28, which is expectedto help expand the flows of people, vehicles and goods from third countries,contributing to promoting economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam andChina and in the region, and further deepening the friendship between the twocountries.

The Government leader stressed the need to developthe economy, including border gate and border trade economies, in accordancewith Vietnam's laws and international practices; ensure security, social orderand safety; promote vigilance; prevent and combat crimes such as smuggling,drugs; and ensure safety for people passing through border gates.

He ordered relevant authorities to continue building and perfecting the planning,investing in upgrading infrastructure, and researching appropriate policies andmechanisms to create favourable conditions for import and export activities,attract more investment, and promote comprehensive cooperation and developmentin all fields, particularly investment, trade, intermodal transportation, andtourism.

On the same day, PM Chinh paid a New Year visit andpresented gifts to forces on duty at Tra Linh international bordergate.

He also attended a ground-breaking ceremony of the firstphase of a project to build an expressway connecting Dong Dang border gate inLang Son province and Cao Bang’s Tra Linh./.

Khanh Hoa gears up for elections, facilitates voting for tourists

Thanh requested a thorough review of voter lists to ensure all eligible voters can exercise their rights. Polling teams were asked to establish advisory groups to assist voters when needed. He also stressed the need to make arrangements so that tourists visiting Nha Trang can cast their ballots in accordance with regulations.

Tenth Vietnam–China border defence friendship exchange to feature innovations

Australian expert hails performance of 15th NA, People’s Councils at all levels
