President hands Labour Order to Ba Dinh district

State President Nguyen Minh Triet on May 31 presented the first-class Labour Order to Ba Dinh district of Hanoi, at a ceremony to mark the 50 th anniversary of the district’s foundation (May 31, 1961-2011).

Party General Secretary and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen PhuTrong sent a basket of flowers and a message of congratulations to thedistrict.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ngo Thi DoanThanh, Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairwoman of theHanoi People’s Council, praised the achievements of the authorities andpeople of Da Dinh district during the past five decades.

As a place where the leading agencies of the Party and State werelocated, Ba Dinh district always required the maintenance of politicalsecurity and social order and safety as leading priorities, ensuring thebest service for the Party and State’s internal and external affairs,she said.

As a national political and administrativecentre, Ba Dinh district had been selected to implement the great andimportant guidelines of the Party and State on a trial basis, she said.

Ba Dinh district was set up on May 31, 1961 under theGovernment’s decision on Hanoi ’s administrative apparatus, includingfour inner districts of Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, Ba Dinh and Hai Ba Trung,and four outskirts districts, namely Tu Liem, Thanh Tri, Gia Lam andDong Anh.

Over the past 10 years, the district’sbudget collection increased by 30 times to 3 trillion VND in 2010,making active contributions together with the capital city and thenation to overcoming difficulties and challenges derived from the globaleconomic downturn./.
