Quang Nam (VNA) – President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on November 15attended the National Great Unity Festival 2021 in Ba commune, Dong Giangdistrict, the central province of Quang Nam.

President ofthe Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien also joinedthe festival.

Talking with local people, President Phuc expressed hisdelight that Ba commune is the first in Dong Giang district to meet allnew-style rural area building criteria, with the poverty rate among local households declining tobelow 5 percent. Education and health have received due attention with 100 percent of children going to school. Local policy beneficiaries and households living in difficult circumstances have also received care.

He took the occasion to thank ethnic groups in the provincefor their contributions to the nation’s revolutionary cause.

Stressing the important role of the VFF in all times, theState leader expressed his hope that the front work will receive due attentionin Dong Giang district in general and Ba commune in particular, and the local VFF chapter will continue promoting its role as a bridge connecting locals with the Party andState.

He also appealed to the commune’s Party Committee andauthorities to continue uniting and implementing social welfare, striving toreduce the poverty rate, and promoting the cultural identities of both Kinh and CoTu ethnic groups.

On this occasion, on behalf of the VFF and donors, thePresident handed over 7.3 billion VND (322,500 USD) to Dong Giang and Tay Giang districts to build 100 houses for people in need.

He also visited and presented gifts to several poorhouseholds, policy beneficiaries, and Heroic Mother Tran Thi Gioi in Ban Maivillage of Ba commune./.
