President Truong Tan Sang welcomed the Chairwoman of Bulgaria’s National Assembly, Tsetska Tsacheva, after she arrived in Hanoi on April 16.
President Sang said her visit will help to enhance the already established strong friendship the two countries share.
He thanked the Bulgarian people for supporting Vietnam during its struggle for national independence.
The President said he is delighted at the positive development of political ties between the two countries, which, he said, is an important foundation to expand cooperation in every field.
The President believes that the friendship between the two countries gives Vietnamese businesses an excellent opportunity to penetrate the EU market and said that Vietnam would gladly act as a bridge to link Bulgaria with the ASEAN market.
Tsacheva said that the top level political dialogue between the two countries has produced positive outcomes and confirmed that her visit is to further relations in the context of a changing world.
She praised the efforts made by over 30,000 Vietnamese citizens, who are studying and working in Bulgaria , adding that the presence of Vietnamese businesses in Bulgaria will help them access the EU market, as Bulgaria is an EU member.
Later the same day, Tsacheva met with Le Hong Anh, Politburo member and a standing member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat.
Anh described Tsacheva’s visit as the result of the friendship and level of cooperation between Vietnam and Bulgaria .
Vietnam always attaches a lot of importance to its relations with traditional friends, including Bulgarian, he said.
He stated that the Vietnamese Party supports the development of closer ties between the two legislative bodies and believes that this will enhance the relationship between the two states and peoples.
Tsacheva briefed her host on Bulgaria ’s current situation and the outcomes of her talks with other Vietnamese leaders.
The Bulgarian National Assembly is keen to work more with the Vietnamese National Assembly to exchange their experience in creating legislation.
She pledged to make an all-out effort to contribute to developing the friendship between the two legislative bodies and peoples.-VNA
