Hanoi (VNA) - With positive signs in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic, businesses are speeding up production to ensure orders in the remaining months of the year.

Speeding up production

On October 11, the Government issued Resolution No. 128 on provision regulations on safety, flexibility and effective control of COVID-19 epidemic.” According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, all favorable conditions together with the efforts of the business community, Vietnam reported a trade surplus in September. In many localities, businesses also boosted production and business, ready to adapt to the new normal.

Notes from the Southern Special Working Group of the Ministry of Industry and Trade show that Tien Giang province is implementing plans to ensure production safety for production enterprises.

Accordingly, there are 186 enterprises in industrial parks and industrial clusters. Up to now, the province has recognized the "3-on-the-spot" production plan for 78/186 enterprises in industrial parks and industrial clusters (accounting for 41.9%) with a total number of 57,163 employees implementing the plan.

In Tien Giang province, about 454/897 enterprises and cooperatives outside industrial zones and clusters are operating (accounting for 50.6%). In which, there are 91 enterprises operating under the "3-on-the-spot" option; 363 businesses are operating ensuring the prevention and control of epidemics according to regulations…

In Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the Southern Special Task Force of the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that there are 22 enterprises operating in the province...

Notably, in Hanoi, after the city implemented measures to ease epidemic control measures, businesses in the city also accelerated production to ensure new orders and restore production.

Statistics by mid-October show that in nine industrial zones in Hanoi over 95% of enterprises resumed operation. Along with that, 661 businesses have established a COVID-19 Steering Committee at their businesses with 3,600 safe COVID-19 groups.

Focusing measures to support businesses

In order to remove difficulties for businesses, according to Mr. Truong Thanh Hoai, Director of the Department of Industry (Ministry of Industry and Trade), from now until the end of the year, the department will focus on ensuring the safety of epidemic prevention for production. business; ensure the circulation of goods serving enterprises’ operations; at the same time, propose policies on finance, credit, and social security for businesses and employees.

 

At the same time, the Department of Industry also focuses on perfecting policies to promote the development of foundation industries, supporting businesses and localities to develop industry and communication.

Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien asked the Department of Industry to focus on supporting businesses in accordance with policies promulgated by the National Assembly and the Government in recent years.

He laid stress on ensuring safety of epidemic prevention, production and business services; goods circulation; proposing policies such as finance, credit, labour... thereby helping enterprises to resume production and business soon; at the same time, building and planning development strategies of associations and businesses in accordance with the new, post-COVID-19 context.

Leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade noted that the Department of Industry should urgently coordinate with units under the Ministry and localities (especially those with industrial potential) to develop strategies and programmes for industrial development suitable for their competitive advantages and local resources (integrated into regional and provincial planning).

Along with that, the department should focus on reviewing, amending and supplementing mechanisms and policies to remove difficulties for large-scale industrial production projects and fields (steel, automobile, textile, footwear, food) serving export and domestic consumption./.
