The Department of Education and Training of southern Vinh Long province on February 18 kicked off a project to raise awareness of and develop personal hygiene habits at school.
The 85 million VND project is funded by the Australian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.
In March, the project will install sinks and launch communication campaigns on safe and effective water use at five secondary schools in the province.
Students will be taught how to wash their hands properly and join interesting activities related to clean water and the environment.
Pham Van Hong, deputy director of the department, said the project helps develop personal hygiene habits, using clean water and hand washing with soap, thus creating a clean environment at school.
The project will lay a foundation for the department to expand the model to other schools across the province, he said.-VNA
