Quang Ninh, Dak Lak see positive signs in tourism recovery

The northern province of Quang Ninh welcomed over 300,000 visitors to its tourist sites in the six-day Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday from January 31 to February 5, earning around 400 billion VND (17.6 million USD).

Hanoi (VNA) – The northern province of Quang Ninh welcomedover 300,000 visitors to its tourist sites in the six-day Lunar New Year (Tet) holidayfrom January 31 to February 5, earning around 400 billion VND (17.6 millionUSD).

This is good news, marking the recovery of the “non-smoke" industry after a “frozen” period due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Local religious establishments such as Yen Tu relic site,Ba Vang, Ngoa Van and Cai Bau pagodas, and Cua Ong temple, together with HaLong Bay – a UNESCO-recognised World Heritage Site, were the most attractive totourists during the holiday.

The provincial Department of Tourism has set a target ofserving over 9.5 million visitors, including over 1.4 million foreigners, andearning about 19 trillion VND from tourism services in 2022.

In the first half of this year, Quang Ninh will reduce 50percent of entrance fees to its famous local destinations such as Ha Long Bay,Yen Tu relic site, and Quang Ninh Museum.

Travel businesses in Quang Ninh continue to diversifyservices and products to meet different tastes of visitors when the provincetotally reopens its door to both domestic and foreign holiday-makers.

Also seeing a positive signal, the Central Highlandsprovince of Dak Lak served over 143,000 visitors, including 260 foreigners, andearned 8.46 billion VND during Tet, respective year-on-year rises of 51.5 percent and 43.6percent./.

Forum seeks solutions to build brand for Vietnamese Robusta coffee

Automakers race toward fierce competition as sector shifts gears

According to the latest figures from the Department of Customs, Vietnam imported 16,343 cars in October. Although this represents a 5.5% drop from the previous month, total imports over the first ten months reached 171,364 units, up 20% year on year. Import turnover neared 4 billion USD, the highest level in the past three years.

Coffee exports likely to exceed 8 billion USD this year

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment reported that Vietnam sold 1.3 million tonnes of coffee overseas for 7.41 billion USD between January and October, up 61.8% year-on-year and marking the highest annual value increase to date. The average export price reached 5,653 USD per tonne, a surge of 42.5% from the same period last year. Several markets posted outstanding growth, particularly Mexico, where export value jumped by 34.7 times.
