Reference exchange rate adjusted up on June 2

The State Bank of Vietnam adjusted the daily reference VND/USD exchange rate up 7 VND from June 1 to 22,403 VND per USD on June 2.

Hanoi, (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam adjusted the daily referenceVND/USD exchange rate up 7 VND from June 1 to 22,403 VND per USD on June 2.

With the current trading band of + /- 3 percent, the ceiling rate appliedto commercial banks during the day is 23,074 VND and the floor rate 21,732 VNDper USD.

The opening hour rates at commercial banks saw slight fluctuations.

Vietcombank reduced both rates by 5 VND from June 1, listing the buyingrate at 22,665 VND and the selling rate at 22,735 VND.

BIDV kept both rates unchanged from the previous day, at 22,675 VND(buying) and 22,745 VND (selling) per USD.

Techcombank adjusted both its rates down 10 VND, listing the buying rateat 22,640 VND and selling rate at 22,750 VND per USD.-VNA

Banks selling mortgaged assets to recover bad debts

The Viet Dragon Securities Company (VDSC) said that bad debts might continue to increase slightly this year, after a circular allowing banks to reschedule debt repayment periods and maintain the debt group for certain sectors expired at the end of 2024.

Banks' credit up 11.3% in HCM City in 2024

Total outstanding loans of credit institutions in Ho Chi Minh City as of the end of last year were worth over 3.9 quadrillion VND (153.3 billion USD), a 11.3% increase for the year, according to the central bank.
