Reference exchange rate continues rising on October 17

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,199 VND/USD on October 17, up 12 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,199 VND/USD on October 17, up 12 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 25,409 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,989 VND/USD.

At major commercial banks, the opening hour rates saw increases.

At 8:19am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 24,810 VND/USD and the selling rate at 25,170 VND/USD, both up 50 VND from October 16.

VietinBank also raised both rates by 35 VND, posting the buying rate at 24,800 VND/USD and the selling rate at 25,160 VND/USD./.
