Reference exchange rate continues to go up

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,229 VND/USD on September 4, up 5 VND from the last transaction day before the National Day holiday (August 30).

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,229 VND/USD on September 4, up 5 VND from the last transaction day before the National Day holiday (August 30).

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 25,440 VND/USD and the floor rate 23,018 VND/USD.

At major commercial banks, the opening hour rates fluctuated in different directions.

At 8:21 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 24,710 VND/USD and the selling rate at 25,050 VND/USD, both unchanged from August 30.

BIDV reduced both rates by 15 VND, posting the buying rate at 24,700 VND/USD and the selling rate at 25,040 VND/USD./.
