Reference exchange rate continues to rise

The daily reference exchange rate on March 1 rose 10 VND compared to the previous day at 22,473 VND/USD as set by the State Bank of Vietnam.

Hanoi (VNA)- The daily reference exchange rate on March 1 rose 10 VND compared to theprevious day at 22,473 VND/USD as set by the State Bank of Vietnam.

With the currenttrading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banksduring the day is 23,146 VND/USD and the floor rate 21,802 VND/USD.

An upturn was seenin the rates listed by major commercial banks.

At the beginning ofthe day, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 22,725 VND/USD and the sellingrate at 22,795 VND/USD, up 10 VND from February 28.

Meanwhile, BIDV’sbuying rate was 22,720 VND/USD and selling rate was 22,790 VND/USD, 5 VNDhigher than the previous day.

However, the rateslisted at Vietinbank reduced 36 VND compared to the previous day at 22,676 VND/USD(buying) and 22,746 VND/USD (selling).-VNA
