A requiem was held in Vientiane on August 6 for Vietnamese and Lao revolutionary martyrs, who sacrificed their life for national independence and the special relations between the two countries.
Buddhist monks, nuns and followers prayed for martyrs’ souls and for the country’s peace and people’s prosperity.
The ceremony was to call on younger generations of Laos and Vietnam to take responsibility to maintain the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
On the occasion, the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV)’s branch in Laos presented 216 million VND (10,152 USD) to the Lao Buddhist Association’s social welfare activities, bringing the bank’s assistance to the field to 182 billion VND (8.55 million USD).-VNA
