Rice aid supplied to northern, central provinces

The Prime Minister has requested the Ministry of Finance provide nearly 1,300 tonnes of rice to the northern provinces of Tuyen Quang, Thanh Hoa and the central province of Phu Yen.
The Prime Minister has requested the Ministry of Finance provide nearly1,300 tonnes of rice to the northern provinces of Tuyen Quang, Thanh Hoaand the central province of Phu Yen.

The aid provision aims to alleviate hunger during food shortages between local harvests.

Tuyen Quang province will receive 350 tonnes of rice; Thanh Hoa 707 tonnes; and Phu Yen 236 tonnes.
This is the second time the provinces have received aid in the form ofrice; the first time the three provinces received 278 tonnes, 1,211tonnes and 272 tonnes respectively.

Earlierthis year similar aid packages were provided to a number of localities,including Quang Tri, Lao Cai, Nghe An, Tuyen Quang, Binh Dinh and QuangNgai.-VNA
