The Prime Minister has instructed the Ministry of Finance to allocate 4,208 tonnes of rice from the national reserves to eight provinces nationwide to help the disadvantaged in those provinces enjoy the Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival.
The rice will be delivered to the central province of Quang Ngai (1,335 tonnes), four northern provinces of Yen Bai (308 tonnes), Ninh Binh (195 tonnes), Cao Bang (475 tonnes), Ha Nam (687 tonnes), and three Central Highlands provinces of Dak Lak (550 tonnes), Kon Tum (279 tonnes) and Gia Lai (379 tonnes).
Previously, five provinces – three central provinces of Nghe An, Quang Tri and Binh Dinh, and two northern provinces of Lao Cai and Tuyen Quang – were also given 5,778 tonnes of rice for the same purpose.-VNA
