During his visit to the victim’s family in the Mekong delta city ofCan Tho on July 20, Ambassador Park Suk-hwan also conveyed thePresident’s sympathy over the death of Ngoc and his regret at notoffering condolences directly to her family.
The ambassador saidthe President will request relevant RoK agencies handle the casestrictly to prevent similar incidents and the ambassador also handedover the President’s financial assistance to Ngoc’s family.
Duringthe visit, Ambassador Park held a working session with the Can Thomunicipal Women’s Union , at which he said he was regretful about theaffair and expressed hope that it will not affect the friendship betweenthe two governments and people.
Thach Thi Hoang Ngoc, 20, fromCan Tho, was killed by her allegedly mentally ill husband, 47-year-oldJang, in the southern port city of Busan on July 8, just a fewdays after she arrived in the RoK.
Ngoc’s ashes were brought backto Can Tho by her parents on July 15.
