Counsellor of the Republic of Korea’s Embassy in Vietnam Woo Jun Sohn, was presented with the insignia “For the Cause of Natural Resources and Environment” at a ceremony in Hanoi on February 13.

The award is in recognition of Woo’s important contributions to developing and promoting activities related to natural resources and environment protection in Vietnam .

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Manh Hien praised Woo for his role in promoting the bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the field of land management.

He also played a role in bringing about a cooperation MoU between the Land Polity Bureau under the RoK Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements and the Korea Association of Property Appraisers on one side and the General Department of Land Administration of Vietnam on the other side.

In addition, Woo joined the policy-making process in mobilizing financial resources for a technical assistance project in building a multi-purpose land information database model, which was begun in December last year.

Upon receiving the insignia, the counsellor said he will spare no efforts to further push the cooperation for development between the RoK and Vietnam.-VNA
