The Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Ministry of Education will assist Vietnam and Uzbekistan in digitising classrooms by applying the most advanced technologies in teaching and learning, the ministry announced on July 21.

Within this month, the RoK ministry will sign memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on the issue with the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the Uzbek Ministry of National Education. The MoUs will be valid for three years.

Under the documents, the RoK will provide necessary information technology (IT) equipment like electronic blackboards and laptops for the two nations.

The RoK will also invite Vietnamese and Uzbek teachers and educational experts to attend training courses on e-class curricula in the country.

According to the ministry, the programme is part of a project to help build e-classrooms implemented by the RoK since 2011 to share its technology and experience in applying IT in education.

As of July 2015, nine countries have received the assistance, including Brunei, Colombia, Indonesia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Cambodia, Azerbaijan, Sri Lanka and Paraguay.-VNA
