RoK national foundation day observed in Hanoi

The Republic of Korea (RoK) Embassy in Vietnam on Oct. 4 hosted a banquet to celebrate the 4,344 th anniversary of the RoK’s national foundation (Oct. 3, 2,333 BC).

RoK Ambassador HaChan-ho reviewed the RoK’s history and expressed his delight at thefruitful development in the friendship and cooperation between Vietnamand the RoK.

The ambassador said he hoped thatthe strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries woulddevelop further in all areas, for the interest of their people, and forpeace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and theworld, especially on the occasion of the 20 th anniversary ofVietnam-RoK diplomatic ties in 2012.

VietnameseDeputy Foreign Minister Pham Quang Vinh congratulated the RoK Governmentand people on their achievements, referring to the country’s successfulbid to host the Winter Olympics in 2018, which, he said, makes the RoKthe sixth country to host four major sporting events – Summer Olympics,Winter Olympics, World Cup and World Championships in Athletics.

The RoK’s performance in foreign affairs also showed the country’sincreasingly heightened position in the international arena, Vinh added.

Vietnam believed that the RoK people willcontinue to reap successes in the process to become a word leadingeconomy, Vinh said./.

To further strengthen Vietnam-Belgium relations, especially parliamentary cooperation, both sides agreed to enhance delegation exchanges at all levels, particularly between parliamentary committees and friendship groups. They also pledged to share legislative and supervisory experience, coordinate positions in international organisations, support each other’s candidacies for UN bodies, and effectively implement the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
