Romanian politician’s book offers overview of Vietnam

The book " A Miracle Vietnam" by Dr. Pavel Suian published recently in Romania brings to readers an overview of Vietnam and is regarded as a valuable resource for those interested in Vietnam in this Eastern European country.

Moscow (VNA) – The book " A Miracle Vietnam" by Dr. Pavel Suian publishedrecently in Romania brings to readers an overview of Vietnam and is regarded as avaluable resource for those interested in Vietnam in this Eastern Europeancountry.

Dr. Suian, a politician and retired university professor, said that he wrotethis book primarily out of admiration for Vietnam's history and culture, as wellas his profound respect for the revolutionary heroism and the bravery of theVietnamese people during the struggle for national liberation.

Thewriter said he hopes the book will provide Romanian friends and people aroundthe world with a better understanding of Vietnam and its people.

The 566-page book in the Romanian language consists of 11 chapters,providing basic information and in-depth analysis related to the country,people, history and cultural values of Vietnam, victories of theVietnamese army and people in the past as well as their great successes insocio-economic development, politics, diplomacy and international integrationtoday.

It is worth noting that in Chapters 5 and 6 of the book, Suiandemonstrated his deep understanding of Vietnam’s foreign policies, particularlyregarding the East Sea issue. He also expresses admiration for Vietnam'sapproach for dealing with this matter.

The author also spotlights the achievements of Vietnam's clever and flexibleforeign policy in maintaining and developing relationships with major partnerssuch as the US, China, Japan, Russia, and France, and neighbouring countrieslike Cambodia and Laos, thus contributing to ensuring political and socialstability and making breakthroughs in economic development.

He expresses his support for and highly values Vietnam's standpoint on resolvingdisputes and differences through peaceful measures, based on international law,including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

The book also emphasises the ample evidence and legal basis that Vietnampossesses regarding its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa(Spratly), as well as the necessary role of the international community inensuring maritime safety and freedom in the region./.
