A task force from the Russian Pacific Fleet commanded by Navy Captain First Rank Ildar Ferdinandovich Akhmerov anchored at Saigon port in Ho Chi Minh City on Apr. 6, at the beginning of a goodwill visit to Vietnam.
The task force led by the destroyer Admiral Tributs, accompanied by the tanker Pechenga and the tug MB-37, will stay for six days.
During their visit, the Russian naval officers will lay a floral tribute at the monument to President Ho Chi Minh and pay a courtesy visit to Ho Chi Minh City ’s leaders.
They will visit the Commander of Military Zone 7, Naval Zone 2 and several cultural and historical sites in the city.
They will also have a day of sport with the officers and men of the Vietnam ’s People’s Navy.
This is the second goodwill visit to Ho Chi Minh City by Russian naval ships, which will help to boost the traditional friendship between the two peoples and armed forces.-VNA
