Russians in Vietnam cast their ballots in presidential polls organised from Feb. 29 to Mar. 4 by the Russian Embassy in Vietnam.
On March 4, around 950 Russian citizens who are working for t he Russian-Vietnamese oil and gas joint venture Vietsovpetro and their relatives cast their votes in the southern coastal city of Vung Tau, according to Chairman of the Russian Presidential Election Committee in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province Yury S. Sokolov.
The election committee had sent mobile polling boxes to offshore oilrigs where Russians are working to enable them to cast their ballots.
Other polling stations were opened in Nha Trang City in Khanh Hoa province and Mui Ne in southern Binh Thuan province, which are tourist draws to many Russians.
Dzybkobo Galeeva, a tourist, said “This is the first time I have cast my presidential ballot overseas. It is an unforgettable memory.”
Apart from these destinations, the Russian Embassy also organised polling stations in HCM City, central coastal city of Da Nang and Hanoi.-VNA
