Hanoi (VNA) – A scientific webinar themed “Ho Chi Minh trail at sea - historicalmiracle and lesson for national construction and defence cause” will be heldon October 19, heard a press conference on October 12.

As part ofactivities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of launching the Ho Chi Minh trail atsea, the event will virtually connect participants of the northern city of Hai Phong and thosefrom military zones, the Army Academy, the Army Officer Training College 2, and MilitaryCommands of provinces and cities nationwide.

ColonelNguyen Van Sau, Vice President of the Military History Institute of Vietnam, said the workshop aims toaffirm and clarify the policy of building strategic logistics lines - the Ho Chi Minh trails in the mainland and at sea, which was agreat success in leading and directing the resistance war against the US tosave the country of the Vietnam Workers' Party (now the Communist Party ofVietnam) and President Ho Chi Minh.

The Ho ChiMinh trail at sea is a shining symbol of patriotism,willpower and determination for liberation of the South and national independence of the entire Party, people and army,as well as unyielding revolutionary spirit, heroic tradition, creativity andinternational solidarity against the common enemies of people of Vietnam, Laos, andCambodia, Sau said.

Opinions to be raised at the event will contribute to affirming the role of the Ho Chi Minh trail at sea for thebattlefields of the three Indochinese countries, coordinationbetween their forces, and the special solidarity against their common enemies, while spotlighting the historical significanceand value of the trail for Vietnam’s national construction and defence andinternational solidarity at present.

On the sidelines of the webinar, a incenseoffering ceremony will be organised at Wharf K15 in Hai Phong, the starting point of  the Ho Chi Minh trail at sea./.

Education-training sector preparing for strategic turning point: Minister

Reviewing the sector’s performance in the past five years, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said the scale of the national education system continued to expand across all levels, with more than 24.5 million learners nationwide. Ho Chi Minh City steps up law enforcement on fishing vessel monitoring system

Ho Chi Minh City has 4,449 fishing vessels, of them 4,301 equipped with VMS devices, making up 96.67%. Between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2025, authorities found 1,729 cases of vessels losing VMS connection for six hours or more, issuing fines in 196 cases totalling nearly 6.6 billion VND (about 252,000 USD)
