SEA Games 32: Vietnamese women’s football team strive to defend gold medal

Hanoi (VNA) – Huynh Nhu, a top striker of both Vietnamese national women's football team and Lank FC of Portugal, said she and the entire team have set the goal of successfully defending the gold medal at the upcoming 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia.

On the morning of April 27, the Vietnamese women's national team returned to training after their final friendly match with a squad of Japan's Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences. With one win, one loss, and one draw in three matches, the players have gained valuable experiences for the upcoming tournament in the neighbouring country.

At SEA Games 32, coach Mai Duc Chung's team will face strong opponents, including the Philippines - the defending champions of AFF Cup 2022, Myanmar, which reached the semifinals of SEA Games 31, as well as Malaysia and Indonesia.

According to the schedule, the Vietnamese women's team will play against Malaysia in the opening match at 3:30pm on May 3./.
