Hanoi (VNA) - The 2016 SEAGZone Artistic Junior & Age Groups Championships is set to kick off on August 23 at Quan Ngua Sports Palace in Hanoi.

The week-long event sees the participation of 30 gymnasts from Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines and 57 Vietnamese players.

“This is the first time Vietnam has organised the event for young gymnasts, but it draws many skillful players from participating countries,” Nguyen Kim Lan, secretary general of the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation, said.

All-male events include team, individual all-around, floor exercises and pommel horse, as well as the rings, vault, parallel bars and the horizontal bar. Meanwhile, female gymnasts will take part in team, individual all-around, vault and uneven bars, as well as the balance beam and floor exercise categories.

The event is a good chance for young Vietnamese players to gain experience and hone their skills.-VNA
