Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung alerted security forces that they will bear a heavier burden as the country fully integrates into world society, as hostile forces continue to use every means to thwart these efforts.

The Government leader voiced the alert at his working session with the People’s Security Force on the occasion of the 64 th founding anniversary of the People’s Police, in Hanoi on August 12.

He urged the security force to adopt a new way of thinking about national security, placing it in a reciprocal relation with economic and social affairs, to ensure political security for the country while it endeavours to meet requirements of the new era, on course to becoming a fully industrialised country by 2020.

The PM emphasised that the maintenance of political security, independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and social order are decisive conditions for the nation’s socio-economic development.

Accordingly, he asked the security force to maintain its key role in ensuring political security and social order –which is also a responsibility of the Party, the entire people and the entire political system.

He said the Party, the State and people are proud of, and highly esteem, what the security force has done for the nation’s current stability.

Over the past 64 years, the people’s security force has overcome numerous difficulties with firm political resolve and shown its absolute loyalty in serving the Party, the State and the people, emphasised the PM./.
