Seminar reviews October Revolution’s significance to socialism

A seminar, themed “Great October: achievements, lessons and looking towards the future”, took place in Moscow on October 31 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Great October Revolution.

Moscow (VNA) – A seminar, themed “Great October:achievements, lessons and looking towards the future”, took place in Moscow onOctober 31 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Great OctoberRevolution of Russia.

Speaking at the event, President of the Ruso socialismcouncil Ivan Nikitchuk underscored the significance of the October Revolutionto socialism, national liberation and global workers’ movements, adding thatthe Soviet Union successfully built the first socialism in the world which putan end to slavery. The State founded by V.I. Lenin defeated fascism andmilitarism, saving human race from genocide regime.

First Secretary of the Political Office of the Vietnamese Embassyin Russia Le Thi Thanh Ly highlighted historic significance of the OctoberRevolution to Vietnam, saying that Vietnam’s road to socialism has been everbright.

From being under embargo, Vietnam has normalised andestablished diplomatic ties with 178 countries and leading internationalorganisations, diversified ties with foreign partners in the spirit of being a friendand trustworthy partner. The country also actively joins regional and globalcooperation process, she said.

Talking to Vietnam News Agency correspondents, VicePresident of the Communist Party of Russia Dmitry Novikov lauded the prospectsof socialism and thanked Vietnam and its Communist Party for consistentlyfollowing socialism thoughts.

The event attracted Marxism scientists from Russia,Vietnam, Venezuela, Ukraine and Argentina.-VNA

Phu Tho: 200kg bomb safely relocated, detonated

According to a report by the Phu Tho Military Command, local residents spotted the bomb on August 31 in the Da River after the river water receded, exposing it beneath mud and soil on the riverbed. The bomb remained intact, including its fuse, and was located about 300m from a residential area.

Shift to data-driven administrative procedures needs acceleration

Under a draft decree replacing Decree 63, authorities will have to proactively pull information from databases and records for informational or technical procedures.
