Senior official speaks to voters in Can Tho city

Local voters highly valued the outcome of the session through whichthe legislature adopted many important resolutions and laws, especiallythe draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution and the revised Land Law.

They asked the Party, State and National Assembly towork out measures to help local farmers seek rice consumption marketsand build irrigation and transport systems in line with a programme onbuilding a new style of rural areas.

They alsoappealed for a free tuition policy for secondary school students andsolutions to the overloaded children’s hospital in the city, along withthe State’s consideration for the price of electricity and land in ruralareas.

Welcoming the sincere and straightforwardopinions of local voters, Anh, who is also permanent member of theCommunist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Secretariat, clarified someissues of their interest and briefed them on the nation’ssocio-economic development as well as the defence and security situationin the region and the world.

He asked the municipalNational Assembly deputies and authorities to gather all local voters’petitions to submit to the Party and legislative body in order topromptly deal with these issues in the upcoming sessions.-VNA
