Sixth working day of 14th NA’s eight session

The 14th National Assembly’s ongoing eighth session began its sixth working day in Hanoi on October 28 under the chair of NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Hanoi (VNA) – The 14th NationalAssembly’s ongoing eighth session held its sixth working day in Hanoi onOctober 28 under the chair of NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

In the morning, lawmakers listened to a report collecting feedback on the draft revised Law on Militia and Self-Defence Forces by Chairman of theNA’s Committee on National Defence and Security Vo Trong Viet.

Fifteen lawmakers presented their opinions on the draft, mostlyin favour of the need to amend and supplement the law.

Also in the morning, Deputy Prime Minister and ForeignMinister Pham Binh Minh reported on the State’s external activities 2019.

In the afternoon, Viet delivered another report on feedbackon the Law on immigration by Vietnamese citizens

Eighteen legislators expressed their views on procedures forthe issuance of popular, official and diplomatic passports, immigrationmanagement, among others.

Minister of Public Security To Lam later clarified issues ofdeputies’ concern.

Concluding discussions, NA Vice Chairman Do Ba Ty, whomanaged the day, said the NA Standing Committee will direct agencies concernedto fine-tune draft laws before submitting them to the legislature for approval.

On October 29, the NA will have a plenary meeting to hear areport on the draft amendments of and supplements to a number of articles ofthe Law on the Organization of the National Assembly, among others./.

Revised law on organisation of Government set to be adopted on Feb.18

The draft law clarifies the cabinet's duties along several key dimensions such as submitting fundamental and critical matters to the NA for decision, presenting issues within the NA Standing Committee's jurisdiction for resolution, proposing amnesty decisions to the President in accordance with the regulations, and executing responsibilities within the Government's authority.

Vietnam expands training partnerships with Cuba, Canada

NA considers capital boost for Vietnam Expressway Corporation
